Our history's most powerful movements teach us an important lesson: We won't win more by demanding less. So, we've got our sights set on the long term. While we fight for change here and now, we're also working to rebuild our economy and create a democracy for all of us.
We're organizing thousands of people around a bold agenda for real change. Our agenda isn't a list of policies the establishment says we can win. It reflects what communities Idaho must win.
Moving from Vision to Action, we advocate a bold agenda, not a list of policies the establishment says we can win, but what the people of Idaho and this country must win! We are building power for a new multi-racial, working class movement that centers Idaho in the local, state and national change we need and deserve. Our work is about creating a world where rural, forgotten and dismissed parts of the country have a prominent place at the table. From cities to family farms, we are Idahoans committed to the structural pillars of a democratic society and building the power of people to advance the promise of a truly multi-racial, pluralistic, inclusive, and just democracy for all!
UVI is comprised of thousands of people committed to winning real improvements in people’s lives! We are centering Idaho in the pro-democracy and social justice movement made up of millions of people across this country to make cultural, social and political change possible. We focus on structural infrastructures necessary for to advance and hold civil rights and just policy. At the core of organizing is relationships (.) At a time of deep division, we know that engaging with people across social and political identity is critical to building a truly inclusive democracy. Our work has always been rooted in authentic relational organizing that builds real connection through the issues and values that unite us in a shared struggle, and building networks across the state and the country to harness our collective power to take meaningful action together and in our own communities.
When we say “poor and working people,” we mean all of us who are hurt by corporations and the wealthy few: poor people, low-income people, working class people, professionals, small business owners and unemployed people.
We mean Black, white, Latino, Asian and Native people.
We mean youth and students, and we mean retired people, elderly people and people with disabilities.
We mean men, women, transgender, and gender non-conforming.
We mean straight people and lesbian, gay, bisexual and queer people.
We mean citizens, and we mean immigrants.
We mean All of US.
United Vision for Idaho (UVI) is committed to transparency, best practices and the highest ethical standards. As many organizations emerge and vie for your support, we want you to feel confident in your investment in UVI.
As we grow stronger together, our mission remains laser focused on uniting people and communities to work strategically to win real improvements in people's lives.
For that reason, we conduct external reviews of all of our practices to assure you of the health and vitality of UVI and reaffirm our commitment to you in all that we do.
This is our moment, and together we can transform the state and the country.
